“Ohhh, I didn’t think of that…” is something I’ve heard, let’s just say, a lot.

Client side & agency side. Publishing to packaging. Single product to complex systems. Global heavy hitters as well as new kids on the block. Whether it’s food, clothing, liquor, services, electronics, newspapers, I’ve got experience with all of them, and others.

With a background in design and an eye for production details, I bring a unique perspective to a creative team; one that understands what the designers are trying to do, and can uncover the landmines that threaten the goals when the project gets to production. Everything from initial scope of work assessment, to early design round observations, to transforming sketches and ideas into reproducible art and then on to real-world “things”, I have experience at all the touch points of the creative journey.

I want to make things makeable, and then I want to make those things better, be they comps, models, or full-scale manufacturing and production. I’m comfortable clarifying production concerns with clients or non-design team members. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a lot of supremely skilled designers and teams, and the work here is the best evidence of that.

I think micro AND macro. I ask a lot of questions. I love a good plan and a good system, even if we have to change it 43 times.

I’m the guy people come to when something’s broken (or missing) or otherwise gone awry. I’m helpy™.

If I’m not doing any of that, you can probably find me on (or working on) one of my motorcycles, playing hockey, worrying about the state of this democracy, or trying to say hello to every dog that crosses my path.
